We have been at New Hope for since 2011 and I am involved in various aspects of church life supporting Oly on the leadership team.
My main ministry is dealing with the finances of the church, offerings, paying bills and preparing quarterly accounts etc. If you have any questions about any financial issues don’t hesitate to come to me for a chat. Louise.
People of the Word- Nev Hattersley
Hi I’m Nev. I’ve been married to Louise since 1999 and we have 2 grown up daughters, Molly and Lucy.
Louise and I have lived in Bradford all our lives. We have 2 dogs. Olive and boo and I am a lifelong Liverpool football supporter.
We have both been involved in church life for 30 years since getting saved in our teens.
My responsibility at New Hope is supporting Oly on the leadership team. I also lead our People Of The Word ministry. We meet on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesday night of each month, 7.30 to 8.45; to study the bible and learn practical skills with a Christlike attitude.
We have been at New Hope since 2011 and my passion is to equip Christian men and women for godly living by teaching biblical truths about who we are in Christ.
Join us on Wednesday evenings in church for some fun and teaching.
Pastoral Care - Wendy Hewitt & Ellen Brookes
I have been retired since 2007 from Buttershaw High School (now BBEC), working on the admin team. I have 2 grown daughters and 3 grown grandchildren.
I am joint carer for my grandson aged 23 who has autism.
I have been a Christian since I was 25 and New Hope has been my spiritual and worship home since 2013. During this time I have been involved as part of the pastoral care team visiting the sick and housebound and helping in various ways as needed.
After a 40yr Career as a trained nurse, I have now been retired from the NHS for 10yrs.
I have 2 grown up Children, who are based in Birmingham and Australia, and I have 4 wonderful grandsons!
I have been part of the fellowship for many years, and alongside Wendy I oversee the pastoral care at New Hope.
At New Hope we want to really care pastorally for people, and this often means supporting people through times of crises or indeed when people are ill.
In a practical sense this involves hospital visits and visiting the housebound, offering practical and emotional support. We have a lovely team of folks who visit people on a weekly basis.
We want everyone in the church to be able to access the care which they might need, on occasion this involves signposting people in more complex situations to outside agencies.
We pass on any concerns to Oliver and the leadership team, these concerns are then on occasion put on the church prayer chain so that as a church we are mobilized to pray, (although this only happens on request, and confidentiality’s are maintained at all times)
If you want to be part of this team or are in need of support do not hesitate to make contact.
